Stephen A. did not wait for Week 18.
He pointed at Detroit — 2,970 from scrimmage, 33 touchdowns, a 1-pick, an 11–5 — and he said the first part out loud. Jahmyr Gibbs is the MVP of Season 1. Then he pointed at the same building. Kyerin Curry is 83 Stable. Same roster. Same Sunday. The 44–3 still happened. The pink slip did not.
Shannon had the other board.
“Renzo King is 13–3, 590–349, and a 99. Chance is 13–3 and a 96. Big Al was the last pick of the draft and he is 13–3 and Elite. Curry is 11–5 and 83. Then you have Puddin at 60 and Jbone at 66. Those two are the chair.”
Week 18 is still open. Sixteen games. Zero finals. The regular year is not closed until those land. The desk is not waiting. The tape through 17 already told on everybody.
Jahmyr Gibbs ran the league and then caught it too. 2,674 rushing, 28 rushing scores, 33 for 296 and five more in the passing game. That is 2,970 from scrimmage and 33 total. The desk scores backs on everything they touch. Saquon Barkley chased him at 2,527 and 28. Jonathan Taylor is third. There is no second Gibbs.
Offensive Player is the same name. From-scrimmage work. Not a quarterback statue. Gibbs, then Saquon, then Taylor, then TreVeyon Henderson at 2,133 and 19, then Christian McCaffrey at 2,129. Detroit’s back ate the category. New England’s back made it a race.
Drake Maye still owns the air. 4,745 yards. 51 touchdowns. 25 interceptions. 372 on the ground. The Patriots scored 590 points, which is first, and they did it with a quarterback who never came off the throne after Week 1. Jordan Love is the cleaner killer — 4,232, 50 touchdowns, 16 picks — and Chance is 13–3 because of it. Patrick Mahomes is the efficiency argument at 4,399, 43, and 11. Justin Herbert threw for 4,472 on an 8–8 Chargers club that could still sneak into January.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba is the receiving stamp. 103 for 1,680 and 17. Petey’s hammer. Puka Nacua won the touchdown board, 91 for 1,445 and 19. Xavier Worthy is right behind him in the end zone. Ja’Marr Chase still printed 1,518 for a 6–10 Bengals desk that is about to get a meeting. Carnell Tate put up 1,404 and 10 as a rookie in Tennessee, which is the only nice sentence Coach Q gets in this column.
Odafe Oweh is Defensive Player of the Year. 20.5 sacks. Washington is 9–7 and Jerm just won five straight to crawl back into the building, and Oweh is the reason the rush never died. Micah Parsons is 18.5 on a 13–3 Packers club. T.J. Watt is third on the desk at 14.5 and a pick. Myles Garrett has 15 sacks for Jordan Stowe and sits fourth because the formula counts the whole line. The rush was the story. The takeaway board was not.
Fernando Mendoza is Rookie of the Year. 3,852 yards, 32 touchdowns, 12 picks, and Las Vegas is 11–5 with a five-game heater and an Elite 93. Da Truth drafted a quarterback and the desk has to live with it. Tate is second. Ted Hurst III and Zachariah Branch kept the receiver room honest.

Renzo King, 13–3, 99. There is no second plus-241. New England scored 590 and gave up 349. Jenna King is still on the headset. Maye still leads the league. TreVeyon still prints from scrimmage. Week 1 called them a dark horse. Stephen A. stamped them in Week 9. The board did not move off that stamp. Miami is in the building Sunday. A win is 14–3 and a 1-seed.
Chance Allred, 13–3, 96. Five straight. 514–350. Love with 50 scores. Parsons with 18.5. The 44–3 over Curry in Week 7 is still the loudest win of the year, and the 90 that used to be a 95 is a 96 again. He plays Detroit in Week 18. That is a 1-seed game and a rematch of 44–3 on the same field.
Quon, 12–3, 318 points allowed. Indianapolis has a game in hand and the stingiest approved board in the league. Jonathan Taylor is 1,952 and 21. They play Jacksonville. If Ren slips and Quon cashes, the AFC 1-seed conversation gets rude.
Almon Young III, 13–3, 93. Last pick of the draft. Stephen A. called the Steelers a sleeper before the first snap. They scored 552. They are still Elite. They go to Baltimore on Sunday, which is how a 2-seed becomes a 3-seed in one night.
Da Truth, 11–5, 93. Five straight. Mendoza. 515–363. The Raiders were not the January club in Week 9. They are walking into Kansas City as a 5-seed with a heater.
The rest of the room that earned a sentence: Phillip Reaves is 11–5 and 94, still Elite, JSN still the best receiver in the league. Jaylen Stowe is 12–4 after the 69–21 scar and would be a 5-seed on the road to Tampa, which is a crime if you only read records. Jerimey Jones is 9–7 with five straight after a 1–6 start and a deadline sale of Daron Payne. That is a rebuild that refused to die. Jordan Stowe is 12–4 and 565 points in Hollywood. Trentan Carpenter is 13–3 and the other AFC 13–3 that is not Foxborough or Pittsburgh.
Denver is first. That is not a debate.
michael richard II is 3–13 and 60. Puddin. Pick 10. Win-now club. 303 points scored, 515 allowed. Below 65 is Extreme Risk. The commissioner can move now. Kansas City blanked them in the middle of the year and the year never came back.
Jbone is 1–15 and 66. Two hundred eighty points scored. Five hundred thirty-three allowed. One win. Firing eligible is the polite sentence. The Jets desk did not survive Season 1.
Coach Q is 4–12. Tennessee allowed 594 points, last in the league. He cashed Swipe’s 20-point Simmons haul in Week 8 and the Titans still could not get off the field. Carnell Tate was real. The building was not. 70 is the Hot Seat. It is also a meeting.
RoyalxSwipa is 10–6 and 75. Twenty points of draft capital for Jeffery Simmons. The Morning Show said it then: the move might not move the needle in January, and it would be a backlash if it did not. San Francisco is on the bubble. Arizona is Sunday. That is the needle.
Coach Javon Smith scored 489 points and won five games. That is a 5–11 with toys. The 61–35 over Lefty was the loudest Sunday he had. It did not become a season.
The rest of the letdown pile: xLeftsideee is 12–4 and still Pressured at 82 because the board never gave the 92 back after 61–35. Classic Secondline is 4–12 in Minnesota. Atlanta is vacant and 3–13. Buffalo is 5–11, and the chair already flipped — Pryor is not the name on the standings anymore. Bobby Brown is.
Curry is 11–5 and 83 Stable. Detroit scored 571 points, second only to New England. Gibbs is the MVP. The Lions are the 7-seed if Week 18 holds. The 44–3 is still the loudest loss of the year. That is a scar on a playoff club. It is not the letdown of Season 1.
70 to 74 is the Hot Seat. 65 to 69 is firing eligible. Below 65 is Extreme Risk.

Atlanta never had a desk. Buffalo already changed theirs. Curry is 83 Stable. Swipe is 75 if he misses. Taylor Watermann is 75 in Houston. Raine Reed is 76 on an 11–5 that is about to host Pittsburgh, which is how you know the board grades the how, not just the math. Slap is 76. Konrad is 76.
The safe list is short on purpose. Ren 99. Chance 96. Petey 94. Big Al 93. Da Truth 93. Curry 83. Oliver Cardenas is 91 on an 8–8, which is the board saying the Chargers offense was the story even when the record was not.
Gibbs is the player of the year. Maye is the quarterback of the year if you only count volume. Love is the quarterback of the year if you count the 16 picks. Oweh is the rusher. Mendoza is the rookie. New England is the team.
The disappointment of the year is not an 11–5 with the MVP. Everybody who watched Denver coming out of the draft saw a pick-10 win-now club. Three wins is the letdown. One win in New York is the other one.
The first coaching change of the offseason is already on the graphic. Puddin is 60. Jbone is 66. That is the chair.
Week 18 can still move a seed. It cannot move the hardware. It might move a chair.
Stamp Gibbs. Stamp Ren. Watch Detroit. Somebody in that building is getting a trophy. The meeting in Green Bay is for a seed, not a job.
